MATCH PREVIEW: Rochester United v Ashford United (Pre Season 2021/22)

Ashford United FC take on Rochester United on Saturday afternoon at Rede Court Road, 1:00pm kick-off.

This weekend’s clash marks Ashford’s return to action since October 2020 as the Nuts and Bolts’ pre-season gets underway.

TEAM NEWS:

Ashford United have no major injury concerns heading into the weekend’s match.

MANAGERS VIEW:

“I’m really looking forward to our first pre-season game back up at Rochester United on Saturday.” Warrilow said.

“The lads have been back in training and had a few sessions now, so they’re all raring to go as well.”

“The result is always important to me regardless of whether it’s a friendly or a competitive match, but obviously the most important thing at the present time is to get minutes into the guys. We haven’t played in a long while.”

“Match fitness will gradually come, but I think the squad is looking good.”

“I’ll also be hoping to see us utilise the stuff we’ve been working on back at the training ground. That’s the kind of stuff we need to begin executing ahead of the season in August.”

“Games are coming thick and fast now, which is good for us to get to the level we need to reach, but all in all, it feels good to be back.”
