Could it get any better?

Well, yes it can. Ashford United Football Club can this morning announce that Lee Martin has joined from Ramsgate.

Martin, 37, needs no introduction.
A player with an amazing career. Playing for the likes of Manchester United (Community Shield winner 2007), Royal Antwerp, Rangers, Stoke City, Nottingham Forest, Ipswich Town, Charlton, Exeter City Gillingham & Millwall. Plus good spells with Ebbsfleet United & Dover, before moving on to Ramsgate.

Lee featured 43 times for the Rams last season and was an integral part of their FA Cup run and unsuccessful push for promotion out of the Isthmian League South East.

The Gaffer quoted “Dont be fooled by the age. Lee is unbelievably fit, and showed that last season. Make no mistake, Lee is a top, top player and had a lot of interest from clubs.
There’s not much I can say really, his experience and career speaks for itself.
Lee will be part of my coaching staff, but ultimately his coaching and vision will come while playing.
This signing almost completes the squad. I want to strengthen just a bit more, but not going to be too hasty in making that decision. They need to be the right player”
