Our Kent Youth League side stay 3rd with games in hand.
Sunday 31st March
Kent Youth League Central Division
K Sports Under 15s 1-1 Ashford United Under 15s
Venue – K Sports Cobdown, Aylesford
The Nuts & Bolts lads were in action last Sunday for their second meeting of the season against 2nd place K Sports in the Kent Youth League Central Division. Having lost 1-0 to K Sports at their first meeting the outcome of this game would prove that they are the thorn in Ashford’s side this season when at the final whistle the score line of 1-1 unfortunately didn’t tell the whole story of a game which was to be a frustrating one for Ashford.
During the first half it was Ashford who had the lions share of the chances with shots from George McIlroy and Ronald Sithole amongst others not quite managing to find their mark and although Ashford had the greater percentage of possession it was K Sports who scored the first goal of the day in the 38th minute and the teams headed in for the break with Ashford trailing 1-0.
The second half started with a bang and within the first few minutes Ashford brought the score line back to level when a ranging strike from Alfie Prior beat the opposition keeper and struck the back of the net. As with the first half so the second continued to frustrate Ashford on a day when it seemed no decision was to go in their favour but they continued to have the greater of the possession and and weren’t without further chances but even the pitch seemed to be against them and the score would stay 1-1. The Nuts & Bolts lads must now re-group and put this Sundays blip behind them and prepare for next Sundays match against Holmesdale at Homelands Stadium.
Nuts & Bolts manage a 1-1 draw at Gallagher Stadium.
Another victory for our Kent Youth League side
A 2-0 victory sees our Kent Youth League side through to the Kent Cup final!
