Kent Youth League Central Division

Welling United Under 15s 1-2 Ashford United Under 15s

The second half became a game of stalemate as neither team seemed to be able to take control and for 25 minutes the only shot on target came from Rueben London-Hobbs as he narrowly missed out on his hat-trick when he struck the cross bar. Welling managed to get the score back to 2-1 when a 67th minute Penalty was powered passed the visitors keeper, being a timely reminder to Ashford that Welling’s 3rd place in the league is well deserved. The Nuts & Bolts boys did their management proud as they shut up shop and saw out the remainder of the game to take the win 2-1. This wins guarantees Ashford at least 2nd place in the league with only 2 games remaining and truly puts the pressure on leaders Maidstone who failed to pick up any points this weekend which brings Ashford within 4 points and with a game in hand.
