Kent Under 15s Boys County Cup
Rochester FC Under 15s 0-4 Ashford United Under 15s
Venue – Greenacre Academy, Walderslade
Last Sunday Ashford United (U15 – Kent Youth League) were in the Kent Cup Quarter final against Medway League team Rochester at Greenacre Academy, Walderslade. On the Anniversary of the sad passing of one of Ashford Uniteds’ parents (Tapiwa ‘blade’ Mundondo) Rochester very kindly joined Ashford in a minutes’ silence prior to kick-off. On a day where both teams faced very windy conditions it was Ashford who took command from the outset with their first goal coming in the 7th minute when a ball from Jayden Wilson was played in from the left wing to Ronald Sithole who powered home goal number one. Credit should be given to Medway League Rochester as they managed to hold of the continued advances of the Nuts and Bolts boys until the 33rd minute when a right wing charge from Gus Barnes lead to Ronald find the back of the net for the second time and the half drew to a close with Ashford holding a comfortable 2-o advantage. The course of play continued in much the same fashion during the second half as Ashford rarely allowed Rochester much room to breath and 20 minutes in the wind came into play when a corner from Harry Sikiwari curled straight into the goal for Ashford third. Rochester valiantly held on for another 15 minutes when Ronald Sithole struck again to claim his hat-trick after a through ball assist from Paddy Underhill allowed Ashford to close the game with a convincing 4-0 victory which books their spot in the semi finals of the prestigious Kent County Cup.
We will now take on Kennington Juniors Under 15s in the semi final on 24th February 2019.
