K Sports were victorious at Homelands in a rare Nuts & Bolts defeat.
Sunday 2nd December 2018
Kent Youth League Central Division
Ashford United Under 15s 0-1 K Sports Under 15s
Venue – Homelands Stadium, Ashford
Last Sunday Ashford were in league action at home against Kent Youth League newcomers K Sports at Homelands Stadium. In a game where home team had the majority of possession during the first half and K sports attempts all came from counter attack runs, it was unfortunately (for the home team) K Sports who found the back of the net in the 21st minute of the first session of play. But as they have proved, the Nuts ‘n’ Bolts lads don’t let going behind unsettle them and they continued to press and attack with the woodwork and the K Sports keeper denying them on a number of occasions. Play during the early stages was far more evenly spread and K Sports responded in kind to everything that Ashford threw at them. The home lads became a little disheartened during the later stages of the game as they just couldn’t seem to catch a break with the referee’s decisions which came to a head when they had a goal disallowed following an offside call that was at best very dubious. The K Sports’ keeper was called into action on a further 3 occasions and made some excellent saves. It was not to be for the Ashford lads during a game where everything seemed to work against them and as hard as they tried they just couldn’t find the back of the net and Ashford ended up with a lose for the first time since April.
