East Kent Youth League Division 1

Ashford United 15s 5-2 Thanet Colts Under 15s

Ashford were at home to Thanet Colts in what was their most physical game so far.  The visitors started strong and fast but it was the home side that took the lead with Ed Milloy scoring.

The visitors had a 10 min spell where they controlled the game and keeper Harry Ruan made save after save to keep Ashford’s lead. Back from 9 weeks of injury striker Josh Batt came on and within minutes and makes it 2-0.  Thanet were a well drilled team and kept pushing forward and were rewarded with an own goal.

2-1 half time.

In the 2nd half both Georgie Dedham & Nathan Barker held the line and both had good games and Redmond was rewarded with a lovely headed goal. MOTM Bertie Williams had an outstanding match at RB, holding off his man, 1st to every ball with great vision and reading of the game. Scopes & Monkley controlled the midfield, and the home side won 5-2, with Milloy & Batt both scoring again.
