Langton Green Under 15s 2-6 Ashford United Under 15s
Venue – Tunbridge Wells Leisure Centre
Last Sunday Ashford United’s (U15) Kent Youth League team were in action away to mid-table Langton Green. The first session of play saw Ashford only lose possession 3 times in the first 14 minutes when a break from Jayden Wilson found Captain Alfie Prior and Ashford took the early lead, Langton Green held on valiantly for another 10 minutes when ‘Paddy’ Underhill chipped the keeper to make it 2 for the nuts and bolts boys. With 7 minutes of the half left to play Langton found a lucky breakout and managed to pull one back and the game went into the break 2-1 to Ashford. Langton Green fought back during the early part of the second half until Freddy Grist found Ashfords 3rd, un-fortunately for Langton a mistake from the re-start ended with George McIlroy tucking home Ashford’s 4th only 1 minute later, not to be outdone Langton dug deep and battled to break out again in the 18th minute to bring the score to 4-2, goal 5 for Ashford was slotted home by Jeremiah Bamgbose just 4 minutes later. Even with a 5-2 lead the Ashford boys continued to attack and keep the pressure fully on until with 6 minutes to Play ‘Paddy’ Underhill found his hat-trick with a cracking solo effort and a strike which the keeper had no chance of saving and the game drew to a close with Ashford taking a 6-2 away win. This means Ashford currently sit second in the league only one point behind Welling but with 2 games in hand.
