Ashford United Juniors Under 15s 6-0 Pilgrims FC Under 15s
Ashford & District Youth Football League Under 15s Division
This was the last game of the season where it saw Ashford United defend their league title.
It started off on a very cold and windy morning which saw Pilgrims FC come out very strong and wanting to be the only team to beat Ashford this season.
The game was into the 11th minute when TJ Woods scored the 1st goal of the game. Pilgrims’ defence were very strong, Ashford had a number of opportunities but struggled to break them down for the next 20 minutes.
The next goal came from Ewoma Akporehe who scored his first of the game.
The game started to get messy when Pilgrims were using their strength against the United players which resulted in a free kick.
Up came George Crisp with his strong right foot; the ball tipped right over the Pilgrims wall and straight into the goal for our third of the morning.
The second half saw the Pilgrims boys with their heads held up fighting the fight against the Nuts & Bolts.
The first 10 minutes of the second half saw Lucas Goronga score his goal and what a goal it was, straight down the middle.
Pilgrims were still hanging on but United had a corner, George Crisp with his mighty kick shot the ball only to be saved by the excellent Pilgrims goalkeeper.
The next 2 goals were from Ewoma Akporehe and came systematically when there were a lot of shots on top of each other, right outside the goal and Ewoma hit the target each time.
Full time and it finished 6 nil to United. Ashford United U15s remained undefeated for the whole season ended up on 37 points, winning the league for 2 consecutive seasons.
