Tom tells us why he’s joined A.U.F.C and his aims for the season.

Today we’re able to bring you a few words from one of Danny Lye’s latest signings Tom Michelson, Tom joined us at the weekend from Hollands & Blair and brings extra experience and strength to the midfield.

“Hi to all the Ashford supporters,
I’m a 25 year old central midfielder, my occupation away from football is a mechanic.
Firstly I’d like too say I have so much respect for Hollands & Blair, it’s a great club and I have nothing but good words and wish the best of luck too Bryan (jock) their new manager for this season.
Ashford’s Gaffer (Danny Lye) made my mind up for coming too ashford, to be fair we met up and had a beer, Lyzee told me of his ambitions for the club and where he wants too take ashford starting with promotion this season! He also told me where I would fit in the team and how he wants me to play, which suits me down too a tee.
My goals for this season are too brake into the box and score goals from the central midfield area, so a few early goals would be great too start my ashford career. It would also be nice too have a few cup runs, but promotion will have too come first for me, do well in the league and the cups will follow! But league comes first.
Just like too say what a fantastic signing westy (Stuart West) is as well, he’s a superb centre half. I’ve played with him for a while now and don’t think I’ve seen him have a bad game!
Also like too say what great fans ashford have. Every time I’ve played against the club the vocal support from the vans is second too none! So I can’t wait too play under that great atmosphere week in week out!
I’ll be joining up with the rest of the squad for preseason training and then the games start, I’m looking forward to meeting you all at the games very soon.
Keep that vocal support up!

All the best for a great season,”
