Sad Loss

Funeral Details now posted

The club have today been informed of the passing of Colin Brunger.

Colin was one of the original “Railway Boys” who were frequent away day fans at Ashford Town games with  most  remembering Colin as our groundsman at the club for many years.

Many a pleasing pattern was instigated by Colin in his passionate love affair with the turf in order  to get the playing surface as near to perfect as he could possibly obtain .This was often in very difficult conditions with most of the grass cutting being done with a walk behind petrol driven mower as opposed to todays sit on versions.

The club have been asked by the family if we could display Colin’s football memorabilia which is certainly the least that we can do for a man that in many a fans eyes was a stalwart of the football club , a man who truly loved the game.

**Colin’s funeral arrangements will be posted as they become available.

All at Ashford United Football Club send our best wishes to Colins family at this most tragic time.

R-I-P Colin.

**The funeral will be held at Charing Crematorium on Friday 24th July at 2 pm followed immediately after with a reception/wake at the Hop Pickers  in Hothfield.
