Following United’s 0-1 victory away at Croydon, The Hub caught up with relieved Manager Paul Chambers.

The Ashford manager who was clearly unhappy with the state of the Croydon pitch praised his teams effort, Chambers said “Although the team did not play as well as they could, this was not helped by a very bumpy pitch, but I have to praise their work rate, energy and enthusiasm, which was 100%”.

Another concern for Ashford fans was new arrival Joe Fisher (younger brother of Sam Fisher) who appeared as a 65th minute sub. Joe played as a winger before lmping off 10 minutes later, when asked, Chambers said Joe was substituted as he suffered a dead leg, this will be assessed on Monday with a view of him being fit for the squad on Tuesday”.
