One in one out for Ashford United defence We wish Cheick Toure all the best for the future This morning we announce the departure of Cheick Toure from the club. Cheick made his debut 2 months ago today when we beat Thamesmead Town at Homelands back on 2nd December 2017, and in his 10 appearances had a superb impact in our defence. Unfortunately for us, Cheick could not commit long term to the club and for personal reasons will soon be making his way back to his home country of France. The door will always be open to Cheick here at Ashford United should he ever wish to return to England. All players and staff really appreciate the efforts Cheick Toure made at his short time at the club. With this, we are really pleased to welcome Jahmal Howlett-Mundle to United. The 21 year old centre back arrives from Bostik Premier club Kingstonian FC. Jahmal was at league rivals Whyteleafe earlier this season having signed from Dover Athletic. He started his career as a youngster with Crystal Palace. He then gained valuable experience in Scotland playing for Hearts and Montrose before moving back south and playing with Dover. He left Whyteleafe in October to join Kingstonian in the league above. Coach Gary Alexander says: “Jahmal is a young athletic CH who has great ability to defend and is a leader beyond his years having already captained a Ryman South side on many occasions. We welcome Jahmal to what we hope will be a successful time” Jahmal also told us his thoughts upon joining: “Speaking to Gary and how much interest he showed in me, I couldn’t turn it down. Playing against his Greenwich side you always knew you’d be up against a good team with a good manager so to have the chance to play under him will continue my development massively. Thankful to the support shown by Leigh and K’s for giving me the opportunity to go out and get some games until the end of the season!” Jahmal will be available to play against Corinthian-Casuals tomorrow afternoon. Welcome!
