Words from first team coach Shaun Holland

We've managed to catch up with Ashford united's coach and all round top man Mr Shaun Holland.

We think you’ll all agree that Shaun has been an integral part of the club since joining us early last season, not only pitch side but helping to bring the fans closer to the club and team.

So sit back and have a read about Shaun’s thoughts on all things United.

Shaun Hollands speaks….

“What an amazing season we have all had at Ashford United. I’m still pinching myself as to what we all achieved this year. I never doubted the squads ability and desire to go on and win this league, although I did have a little lump in the throat, one afternoon in Bearsted!

As the season went on I could feel us getting stronger and stronger, I’ve never been in a dressing room like it. A proper bunch of warriors.

Hats off to Danny and Welfs because they have been absolutely unbelievable in what they have done in such a short space of time. The footballing world is their oyster and I’m sure they will continue to push this club higher and higher. Even when the “enemy” was running the club, Lyzee kept everyone focused on football and football only.

It was tough for us staff at times but we had belief in Derek and Margaret Pestridge, Don Crosbie and Denise Peach, as they are Ashford United and fought hard to save this great football club.

To have them all back at the helm, to me, was like doing the treble this year!”

The fans:

“What can I say about our amazing fans. We as a team appreciate everything you guys bring to this club. Without you, it wouldn’t happen. I’ve made so many friends it’s unbelievable so keep doing what you do and I promise that We will be back fit and hungry pre season.

Onwards and upwards see you all soon.”
