United move to bolster squad ahead of Tunbridge Wells clash Ashford New Signings Greatly Strengthen the Squad After injuries to a number of key personnel, United manager Paul Chambers has again moved to bolster his squad. Following Roy Guiver and Buster Smissen’ arrival last week, United would like to announce the signing of the following players: Joe Fisher -Aged 18 – A product of Dover Athletics highly successful Academy system, Joe is a local lad who is joining Ashford to guarantee more on the field playing time as his talents will certainly be required as the season progresses.. A Central midfielder who enjoys attacking football. Harry Priddle -Aged 17- Dual signed with Leatherhead – Harry is an attacking midfielder who has unfortunately seen his chances of playing time with Leatherhead limited by Leatherhead strengthening their side by signing two ex football league players. Leatherhead have recently been promoted to the Ryman Premier League. Callum Wright -aged 17- Dual Signed with Folkestone – Callum is a product of Folkestone’s youth set up who played an important role in Folkestone’s final run of games as they pushed towards their second place finish in the Ryman South. A centre midfield playmaker who is highly rated by Neil Cugley and has come to Ashford to increase his playing time and experience. Stuart Zanone – Aged 29 – A great proven goal scorer who has recently played for the likes of Thamesmead, VCD and Greenwich Borough. Very much a goal scoring talent who has played a couple of divisions above Ashford’s present level, Stuart needs little introduction and has been brought in to fill the enormous gap left by injuries that have side-lined both Andy Irvine and James Everitt. With striking partners Buster Smissen and Kieran Byrne, Ashford now has a formidable strike force in place again in their quest to win the Southern Counties East League title.
