Last years event was a massive success, raising over £13k for the nominated charities.
This year Fever Pitch will be raising funds for the Twinkling Stars Project. The Twinkling Stars Project was set up by three sisters in memory of Blake Bassett-Rogers, to build, furnish and fund a bereavement suite at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
As well as providing on-going support for the new Twinkling Stars Suite, the Maternity Department is planning a number of projects including the refurbishment of the Counselling Room to make it less clinical and more welcoming.
Sadly, nationally over 100 babies die each week before, during or soon after birth. Women and their families who are living with a pregnancy loss are experiencing a unique form of grief, needing physical and psychological support from diagnosis right through to post delivery.
With the addition of the new Bereavement Suite and the future improvements to be made in other areas, the aim is to offer support and care in the best possible environment for those that need it.
