Media Update

The Very Latest News from Homelands

With recent goings on at Homelands , an update for all I think would be great so here goes!

With all the “Backroom” people working very hard behind the scenes to get the club firing on all cylinders I list some projects that you may or may not be aware of.

1)Canterbury City has signed a 2/3 season deal to ground share which is financially beneficial to AUFC and gives City a base until their new stadium is constructed.

2)Plans for the “Wrap Around” stadium project for Homelands are due to be analysed by the council on the 28th August 2014.The construction will not interfere with the ability of the stadium to keep running whilst construction continues,a very important feature for all .

3)The clubshop will be stocked and will be selling scarves ,programmes, replica shirts, sweets, souvenirs etc and will be able to give out verbally, general information about AUFC as they happen.

4)We have contacted most of the schools around town with a schools activity and attendance deal to get more and more children and their parents to be aware that the town has a top rate football club on their doorstep! Free entry tickets and various activities to be organised for the children including ball boys/girls on match days, penalty half time shoot out competition etc. The response has been great so far with more schools considering the deal.

If your school has not yet been contacted then please phone/email to any of the contact details to be found elsewhere on this website.

5)John “Webbo” Webster on his breakfast radio show on AHBS radio will be giving away FREE ENTRY TICKETS starting in the new season.
We thank the radio station and Webbo for this fantastic help in promoting the club.

6)A new “Facelift” match day programme is coming for the new season with articles inside to bring every fan up to date with the latest information and insight into AUFC which will include amongst other features “From the Gaffer”, “From the Boardroom”, “A view from the stand”, a history of the club feature, “Statsmans” page etc. Look out for this as a lot of revision has taken place to bring you all a programme that has that “Must have a read” look about it.

7)The viewing figure of the website “Hub” have dramatically increased giving the club an invaluable media tool to bring local companies the ability for increased exposure to the public all at beneficial rates to suit both the club and the advertisers.
Please support all the local businesses that have expressed an interest in our club.

8)Season ticket demand has steadily increased and don’t forget we are this season running a “Pro Rata” on the season ticket prices so that you can gain entry advantages at any stage of the season no matter how many games are left in the season 2014/15.

9)The playing budget has been increased since last season enabling the playing management of the club to be able to sign more talented players to strengthen the squad in their quest to win the SCEFL title. New faces and names are now known including… Andy Irvine,…the ex Tunbridge Wells striker who scored in every round of the Wells success in their journey to Wembley in the FA Vase cup final of just 2 seasons ago.Goals are the answer!

10)Personnel behind the scenes include a new trainer /coach in the very talented Lloyd Blackman plus we also have another Physio to work with Alan Orsbourne namely Ben Coles .Ben is in his second year at University as a sports injuries specialist and we welcome him and his skills. .We now have a large squad which will need the intervention and help of both physios to keep us all fit and well.Ben is an ex Ashford Town youth player.

11)Following on from last years successful supporting of charities we are this year supporting a local Ashford based charity namely “Includes us 2” who specialise in helping disabled and needy children from our local area. The club intend to supply collection tins and will be promoting the charity throughout the season with various promotions.
