Kent Senior Trophy Clarification

Kent Senior Trophy Ban Issued by KCFA.

Following on from the disgraceful end of the Kent Senior Trophy final at Tonbridge Angels ground, which we lost by a 4-0 scoreline and marred by crowd fighting at the end of the game, ,the local paper today is carrying the news that we have been banned from this competition by the KCFA for this coming season. Their headline was ….;United Kicked out of Kent Senior Trophy After Final Brawl.
This ban is correct ,but so too have Beckenham Town ,the trophy winners, a fact the paper overlooks ,thus enabling them not to be able to defend their crown.

The KCFA decided that the fines issued to both clubs was insufficient punishment and have increased their authority over the competition with this seasons ban.

Chambo is quoted in the local paper that he is not too worried about the ban, as the competition will not then interfere with the clubs assault on the scefl league title.
That statement, i believe, is fueled by the severe disruption to last seasons title chase caused by the torrential rain and storms that caused the game against Hanwell Town in the FA Vase competition to be played on the 7th attempt. That cancellation has been attributed as one of the main causes for our coming second in the league and missing out on promotion.
Playing 3 games a week in the last 2 months of the league competition was the case for us and also many other teams in the league but sadly we seemed to be derailed by this activity as form was at a very low ebb in the seasons last few games. This too included the KST final.

We have entered both the FA cup and the FA Vase this season.
We will also be entering the SCEFL league cup competitions this coming season, although i believe it is going to be used as a medium for trying out the vast amount of up and coming young talent along with regular first team players enabling hopefully a successful blend of youth and experience.

The under 18 AUYFC team have been successful in their quest to play Ryman Youth League football at Homelands for the coming season and Mark Fellowes, the teams manager and head coach being bouyant as to the quality and numbers of strong talented players coming to his first pre season trials. Some of the best local footballing Kent based teenagers have attended the opening trials and Mark is convinced that a team will be in contention to bring a good first seasons activity in the Ryman since the first teams demise in the Ryman Senior League some 5 years ago.

The AUYFC Ryman team is being sponsored by local company DENNE and will soon be displaying this coming seasons new kit of green and white.
