Croydon Crushed! Croydon Cooly Dispatched in a Frosty South London! The midweek game of Croydon “Trams” v AUFC ended in a crushing 4-0 victory for United at Croydon Sports Arena on a bitterly cold night in South London. First goal to Mikey Dalton after just 2 minutes set the tone with our back four defender Pat Kingwell adding the second just short of the half hour mark. So a commanding 2-0 scoreline at half time boded well for a further 3 points in the title race for the SCEFL. The second half produced even more commanding play from United with the next goal being an own goal put in by trams Jamie Lyndon after Ryan Palmers shot bounced back off the post making it 3-0 with the evenings encounter rounded off with yet another goal from our prolific goalscorer Paul Booth ,a penalty on 76 minutes. It was a game stating Danny Lye’s commitment and intent to bounce back after our exit from the FA Vase on Saturday where we came up against Salisbury City who on that showing are a Conference league club at minimum, playing well below their true status after their compulsory relegation to the lower leagues following financial problems. With league leaders Hollands and Blair losing tonight to Cray Valley PM, the league title now becomes wide open between the top three teams of H&B ,Greenwich Borough and Ashford United. On now to Saturdays encounter of yet more cup football in the semi Final of the Kent Senior Trophy where we play Corinthian at Homelands with a 3pm kick off.
