Match Preview: Walton Casuals

This weekend, Saturday 13th January 2018 we travel away to Walton Casuals FC, 3pm kick off.

Newly appointed coach Gary Alexander will play his final game for Chatham Town tomorrow and will officially start with Ashford United on Monday 15th January, so Jason Whitmore and Gareth Williams will be looking to continue our great form as we currently sit in 21st place, 5 games unbeaten.

Our last 5 games have consisted of 3 home wins, and 2 away draws, with the Nuts & Bolts beating Chipstead FC 3-1 last time out.

In form striker Andrew Dalhouse has been the talk of the two last away games, as he headed a last minute equaliser against VCD Athletic, and scored our only goal in a 1-1 draw at Faversham Town on New Years Day.

Walton Casuals are one of only two teams in the league we are yet to face this season, the other being Cray Wanderers who we travel away to take on next Wednesday.

Tony Gale, who made around 300 appearances for West Ham is Chairman of Walton Casuals, having joined them in 2003 as Director of Football. His son Anthony is their manager.

The Stags have only lost one game in their last 8 which came on New Years day away to Corinthian-Casuals. They’ve won 3 of their last 5 but last time out draw 2-2 away to Cray Wanderers.

We have scored 12 goals in our last 5 games, conceding just 5 goals. Walton Casuals have scored 8 in their last 5, conceding 5.

Finally, Walton sit in the play offs, in 6th position just 7 points behind league leaders Lewes after 29 games, with a positive goal difference of +23. United now occupy 21st position, 18 points above the relegation zone and a negative goal difference of -30 after 28 matches.
