Match Preview: Ramsgate

Our first midweek home game of the season!

This Tuesday 12th September, our first midweek match at Homelands this season, we welcome fellow Kent side Ramsgate FC to Kingsnorth, 7.45pm kick off.

We’re looking forward to playing The Rams, managed by former Nuts & Bolts coach, Lloyd Blackman, as we’ve not met since 2009-2010 though overall we have met 34 times in the league winning 11 and losing 10 with a home record of 5 won 7 drawn and 5 lost. The home game in 2009-10 was lost 2-3 with Murphy and Sherwood (pen) scoring.

It’s not been the best start to the season for either side, with the hosts in 23rd, and the visitors in 20th place in the league table.

Our only point, from that August bank holiday Monday match away to still unbeaten Sittingbourne is the only thing separating us from the bottom of the table, currently situated by also newly promoted Shoreham.

Ramsgate sit on 3 points, coming from their midweek win away to Faversham Town back on 15th August, and have since lost their last 3 league games on the bounce, against Hastings United, Hythe Town and South Park.

The visitors though, are at least scoring goals. They’ve scored in every single game this season, league and cup, including their Emirates FA Cup matches against Egham Town, and their Kent Reliance Senior Cup 1st round loss to Greenwich Borough.

It’s an important match as both sides will be desperate to clear themselves from the foot of the league, hoping to better results than those around them.

Big support is needed behind Jason Whitmore’s team! COYNAB’s!
