Match Preview: Maidstone United

We welcome The Stones to Homelands

Our fourth game of pre-season takes place on Tuesday 18th July when we welcome Vanarama National League Premier Division side Maidstone United to Homelands 7.45pm kick off.

A lot of connection between the two clubs, as Maidstone played their home matches at Homelands between 2009 and 2011.

Ashford manager Danny Lye, as well as Shaun Welford, Rory Hill. Ben Davisson and Michael Phillips, all have playing connections with The Stones, whilst ex Nuts & Bolts striker Paul Booth took up a coaching role with Maidstone earlier this year.

Almost a year to the day, last season on Tuesday 19th July, the same fixture took place at Homelands and it finished 2-2, with Rory Hill and Shaun Welford scoring in less than 2 minutes to put Ashford 2-0 up by the 17th minute.

We’re looking forward to welcoming our friends from up the M20 to Kingsnorth on Tuesday evening.
