We’re delighted to read that the #NABMag (Nuts and Bolts magazine), the home match day programme at Homelands has been recognised as one of the best in the country.

The annual Soccer Club Swap Shop Programme Awards are always an end of the season highlight for those of us who love a matchday magazine, and Ashford fans may remember we were voted to have the best programme in the SCEFL Premier Division a couple of seasons ago!

Well the Soccer Club Swap Shop has been hard at work once again this season, looking at hundreds of match day programmes all across British football, and today has announced that Ashford United’s very own managed to find their way into the ‘Non League Top 40’ category, alongside the likes of Stockport County, Leyton Orient and Salford City.

Out of the entire pyramid of Non-League football in England, from the National Premier downwards, our match day programme was voted in 22nd place (joint 22nd with Andover New Street FC and Street FC), which is a magnificent achievement!

We were also voted the best programme in The Bostik League South East Division, ahead of Sevenoaks Town.

Don Crosbie:

“I am delighted to see that we have been recognised to have one of the best match day programmes in non league football.

These awards have recognised our programme over the years and we are going up and up in the ranking each season, so let’s improve on that again be even better than 22nd next year!

I would like to personally thank each and every person who contribute towards the programme for our home matches. That includes; All of our wonderful sponsors and advertisers (whom without – the programme would not be possible!), club historian Allan Wilson for his in-depth reviews of seasons past, as well as previous meetings with upcoming opposition, Kevin Hall and Phil Barham for their brilliant match reporting for those fixtures that they are able to attend, Ian Scammell at Oysterbay Photography, Dave Jones and also the wonderful team at The Kentish Express for providing beautiful visuals each week which are used on the front cover and alongside match reports, the various youth coaches and Roger Hadlum (3rds manager) for their side’s match reports which gives our fans a good read of how our youth and development sides are progressing, Derek Pestridge and Tommy Warrilow for providing their pre-match programme notes, Donna Wealands for assisting with opposition information such as team sheets, club history and the referee names, the players and fans who each week provide their very own interviews which feature in the programme, and finally last but not least Alex Perseval at Lotus Design and Print who puts everything together on time and with great quality each week to ensure our supporters have a programme worth buying!

Apologies in advance if I may have forgotten anyone. There are many, many volunteers who spend an incredible amount of time throughout a whole season making sure that our programme is up to scratch and I am extremely grateful to everyone.

With the programme in mind, if anyone has any suggestions for future content then please email suggestions to me at info@ashfordunitedfc.com
