This Saturday 23rd February 2019 we welcome Phoenix Sports FC to Homelands Stadium in The Bostik League South East Division, 3pm kick off.

We suffered our first defeat on Saturday since New Years Day in a match where we probably deserved a point but manager Tommy Warrilow says “It was disappointing, those who travelled hopefully agree we didn’t play bad, we created lots of chances but didn’t take them. We let in two soft goals, especially with the miscommunication for second one. The man of the match was their goalkeeper and it ended up just being one of those days.”

We still sit in 3rd place in the table with 11 games left of the regular season, still plenty to play for. Our visitors Phoenix are currently in 11th place but certainly are no push overs as they have 32 points from their 25 matches played. In the reverse fixture we won 2-1 on Tommy Warrilow’s first match in charge of Ashford United back in December thanks to goals from Sam Corne and Danny Parish.

Despite our defeat at the weekend, we still sit top of the form table with a better goal difference than second placed Haywards Heath Town, 15 points from our last 6 games and a difference of +12. Phoenix Sports are 15th in the form table, with 6 points from their last 6 and a goal difference of -7. Last time out, they lost 4-2 at home to Haywards Heath Town, and lost 5-1 away to Hythe Town before that.

In terms of a squad update from the gaffer, every player is fit and available, though Danny Parish is a doubt due to an ankle injury which he recently picked up but should be recovered very soon.

Kick off is at 3pm, make sure you come and support your local team.

Come on you Nuts and Bolts!
