This Saturday 27th April 2019 we welcome Haywards Heath Town to Homelands Stadium in the Bostik League South East Division, 3pm kick off.

This is the 4th time this season we’d have met Haywards Heath, following our reverse fixture in the league in September, and the home and away ties in the FA Trophy a few weeks after that initial clash.

We are yet to beat this side, having drawn 2 and lost 1 of those previous games this season.

We currently sit in 4th, just 2 points ahead of our opponents in 5th. Both sides will be looking for a win, us to try and clinch 3rd place (depending on the result at Greenwich vs Hastings), and our visitors to try and take 4th place off of us.

This is the final game of the regular league season, as the playoffs take place in just 2 days following this fixture, on Monday 29th April.

It is still unknown who will play who, but the only thing we do know, is that 2nd placed Horsham WILL be at home in their semi final, and also the final if they manage to get there, and that we cannot face Haywards Heath in the playoff semi final.

Playoff permutations below:

With just one match remaining in our regular league season, our attention will soon turn to the playoffs for The Bostik League South East Division.

The four teams involved in our playoffs are Horsham, Hastings United, Ashford United and Haywards Heath Town (the teams placed 2nd-5th).

Horsham are confirmed in 2nd place, which means they will have home advantage in the semi final, and also the final should they get there.

Hastings United are currently in 3rd, but will drop to 4th place should they draw or lose, and Ashford win this Saturday. Should they win this weekend, they will have home advantage in the semi final as well as Horsham.

Ashford occupy 4th place at the moment, and must win or draw this weekend to not drop to 5th. We must win to have a chance of stealing 3rd place away from Hastings, but will have to rely on Hastings dropping points. Our goal difference is greater than Hastings, which means if we win and Hastings draw, then we will go above them on goal difference.

Haywards Heath have the last playoffs spot, and are our opponents this Saturday. A win for them will see them leapfrog us in the table.

The semi finals will look like this…

2nd versus 5th (Horsham confirmed in second place and will have home advantage).
3rd versus 4th (3rd placed side having home advantage in the semi final)

The semi finals will be played on Monday 29th April 7.45pm kick off, and are ONE LEGGED.

The final will be between the winners of the two semi final playoffs as above, with the final being hosted by the team that finished higher up in the league table. (e.g. if the final is between Ashford United vs Haywards Heath Town, then the final will be at Homelands, if Ashford finish 3rd or 4th, and Haywards Heath finish 5th).

The final will be played on Friday 3rd May 7.45pm kick off.

We will confirm on the website on Saturday evening as soon as the semi final arrangements have been confirmed.
