Duo sign for the Nuts & Bolts…

Ashford United’s manager Danny Lye has been busy boosting his squad ready for the fast approaching new football season.
We’re pleased to announce the signings of Hollands & Blair duo STUART WEST and TOM MICHELSON.

Stuart is a goal scoring centre half, in 130 appearances for Blair he bagged 63 goals (16 last season) including two against the Nuts & Bolts in the SCEFL challenge cup. He got 23 assists and claimed man of the match 11 times. Stuart also won the Blair players player of the season award last term.
He was Captain in Blairs fantastic first season in the SCEFL last season and brings more winning mentality and experience to the back line.

Tom is a strong central midfielder, he has made 115 appearances for Blair scoring 26 times.
Danny Lye said….
“Tom will give us good strength, and control in the middle of the park, something we lacked last season.”

Lyzee went on to say…

“These lads are a great addition to our already very strong squad, I’m so pleased they’ve both agreed to sign for us. Both Tom and Stuart will score goals, Stuart had the most clean sheets and scored the most goals as a centre half last season.”
“We start our preseason training next week, and the whole squad are eager to get started, we’ve got a close bond between us all and a togetherness on and off the park.”

“All we need now is for our superb loyal supporters to get right behind us, spread the word we’ve got an exciting team at Ashford United, bring some friends and family along to watch us, be vocal in your support, be proud of your local team.
I can tell you this, every single player in our squad wants to win, they will give their all for me, the club and you, the supporters.”
“Let’s unite together and just enjoy the football, a few supporters had A flag made last year with the slogan UNITED WE STAND… And that’s exactly what we all need to be doing. It’s going to be a cracking season!”

If there’s ever been a time to get right behind your local team it’s now. Forget any off field issues and concentrate on the football, after all that’s the bit we love, the passion is there, the players are there and as Lyzee said, all we need now is YOU to be there to.
