Today the club can welcome new first team coach Paul Barnes to Ashford United.
Paul Barnes joins Jason Whitmore’s backroom as first team coach, and will be ever present at tomorrow’s league match away to Ramsgate.
Barnes, who holds a UEFA A coaching badge, is highly respected in the non league football scene having coached at the likes of Dover, Welling and more recently Margate.
Don Crosbie says:
“We know that Paul will bring the experience to the dressing room that has been needed over recent weeks. This is a signing that we’ve been wanting to happen for a while but as a club we couldn’t announce anything until it was confirmed, as it has now.
With this, we announce the departure of Shaun Holland & Mark Irvine from our backroom but thank them greatly for everything they have done for us in recent times and wish them all the best for the future.
We feel this is a big step in the right direction for the club and a big milestone in our recent rebuilding process.”
Shaun and Mark were a huge part of our success last season when we won the double and their efforts will not be forgotten about by anyone at the club.
Also, the club are holding an open Q&A for fans to ask any questions they may have to the board, Jason & Paul in the upstairs bar (Lancaster bar) after training at Homelands around 9pm on Thursday (9th November) evening. Please come along.
