News has reached us here this afternoon that we are saying goodbye to Ben Davisson.
Davisson made 84 appearances (79 starts, 5 subs) for us since making his debut on 27th Feburary 2015, also scoring 5 goals in that time.
Ben was a huge part of our double winning squad last season and played almost every game for us this season but has departed to link up with Sittingbourne.
Jason Whitmore says: “We are sad to see Ben leave but we have said goodbye on very good terms. We have even said that we hope Ben can one day return to Ashford as a Nuts & Bolts player as he has been a fantastic servant to the club and is always welcome back home.”
With this news, we are saying hello to a new signing in Rohdell Gordon.
Rohdell joins us from Hayes & Yeading and we are told he plays in the ‘Number 10’ role but can also play out on the left. Rohdell played for Hemel Hempstead last season, making 12 appearances in the National League South.
With training taking place at Homelands tonight, Jason Whitmore tells us there could be some more signings to come in time for Saturday’s match vs Thamesmead Town.
Finally, Whitmore also confirms that Pat Kingwell is out for around 4 weeks as he still recovers from his concussion.
