AUFC shotstopper George Kamurasi has sadly departed the club.
‘Big George’ has been a fantastic servant to our club since making his debut on 17th October 2015, against Sevenoaks Town away in the Kent Senior Trophy, winning 3-0.
George kept 31 clean sheets across 86 appearances which is a fantastic record. He conceded 85 goals in that time which of course works out to almost 1 goal a game. Over the 86 appearances his record consecutive clean sheets was 4, in the 2016-17 season.
In the 7,637 minutes that George played for the club, he was absolutely loved by all fans, staff and team mates. He was a real leader on the pitch and will be missed at the club.
George will be joining Greenwich Borough FC, which of course is very local to his hometown of Lewisham.
Big G said to us: “The fans and club have been a massive part of my life. It’s a family club and I’m grateful to have been a part of it. To bring success to Ashford was always my goal. Thank you for having me! – Big G.”
Best of luck for the future big George!
We welcome goalkeeper Josh Glover to the club who will be between the sticks for tonight’s game vs Shoreham FC.
