United defeated in league clash at The Ridge
Lolzors FC Reserves 2-1 Ashford United 3rds
Ashford & District Sunday League Division 3
Played at The Ridge, Kennington on Sunday 24th February 2019
We always knew that this would be a tough game against Lolzors and so it proved to be. The 3rds took the lead within the first 3 minutes of the start with a fine goal by Joey Wealthyland and looked as if they would increase the lead several minutes later. But as the game continued Lolzors got back into the game and eventually pulled level. If the first half had proved tough then the second half certainly followed in the same manner. Man of the match for Ashford United 3rds, Captain Sean Corps made two excellent goal line clearances one before Lolzors finally took the lead then one after to keep the score 2-1. It was a good win for Lolzors and a deserved win. But the 3rds pushed forward for the entire match and were unlucky not to pull level on several occasions. There is still a lot of football left for Ashford United 3rds to play this season with 7 league games and 3 cup competitions. The guys put in a big effort today which will serve them well in future games. Roger Hadlum Manager Ashford United 3rds.
