Ashford United 3rds 5-1 Pilgrims FC
Ashford & District Sunday Football League Division 3
Played at The Ridge, Kennington on Sunday 14th April 2019
It was our first win in 3 games and very satisfying to watch it was too. The first half was tight with the game flowing from end to end. Several chances were missed by both teams in the first half before Zak Hankin gave United 3rds the lead. The second half began to follow the same pattern of the first half with both teams getting clear chances to take the lead before United 3rds finally put the ball into the back of the net. The second goal seemed to inspire the 3rds to push on and before long they hit a 3rd goal. Substitute Benn Phillips took to the pitch and struck a 25 yard shot into the back of the net. Pilgrims fought back and managed to get through United’s tight defence but is wasn’t long before Tom McDonald hit the target for United’s 5th goal. United 3rds man of the match was Ivan Kirov. The goal scorers were Tom Mcdonald 2. Zak Hankin 1. Josh White 1. Benn Phillips 1. Well played guys. Cheers Roger Hadlum Manager of Ashford United 3rds.
