Bromley Green Reserves 0-15 (FIFTEEN) Ashford United 3rds

Over the past three seasons I have taken an Ashford team to Waterside to play Bromley Green and have always been on the losing side. We lost twice to them last season in two well contested games and they went on to get promotion, which was well deserved. So for me personally today’s win was very satisfying. It was a difficult game for Bromley Green who are putting together a new squad and they certainly have some very promising young players.

For United 3rds it was a good game played in appalling conditions. From the first whistle United 3rds, dominated the game and continued to do so for the full ninety minutes, and from the moment Ralph Phelps opened the scoring with a forty yard shot that flew into the back of the Bromley Green net United 3rds, never looked back.  Man of the match was Joe Heathcote, with 5 goals. Adam Heathcote hit a brace. The other goal scorers, in no particular order were as follows, Tom Macdonald, Daniel Davies, Jordan Price, Liam Overy, James Wratten-Wood, Gregg Moncrieff and Craig Hagley. Every player gave 100% in lousy conditions, including all the subs. Well played guys, a terrific game. Cheers Roger Hadlum Manager Ashford United 3rds.
